Abstract

The effect of integrated meaningful learning training on cognitive-based construction and life quality of patients with hypertension who were referred to Gonabad's health centers in 2931 Introduction: Hypertension is one of the most common cardiovascular disorders that affects the life quality of patients and has a growing trend. Hygiene training is a strategy that has been confirmed to improve the life quality. However, considering the conditions of the patients and the trainers and the effects of training, finding suitable methods is still under question. Therefore, the present study was conducted to examine the effect of integrated meaningful learning training on cognitive-based construction and life quality of patients with hypertension who were referred to Gonabad's health centers in 2931. Method: The present study is a clinical trial with pretest and posttest plan in which 06 patients with hypertension were randomly divided into two groups by appointment random permutation on block four.: health test group (96 participants) and control group (96 participants). The health test group was trained with integrated meaningful learning training in four sessions of instruction. The instruments for collecting the data were as following: the demographic data questionnaire, standard life quality questionnaire SF90 and cognitive questionnaire that its validity was confirmed by content validity. To determine its reliability, the Cronbach alpha-level was used which showed 68/9 reliability. The data were analyzed in SPSS software using descriptive and inferential statistics, Chi-square test, Fisher exact test, analysis of two-sided variance, analysis of variance with frequent measurement, independent samples T-test, and Paired T-test. Results: The results of analysis of variance showed that integrated meaningful learning training based on cognitive-based construction has increased awareness of the patients in health test group in comparison with the time before training (P<68662). Moreover, independent samples T-test revealed that life quality scores did not have a significant difference between the two groups before the intervention (p = 68029). However, after examining the effect of training on life quality and its eight dimensions, Paired T-test showed that life quality has increased in all its dimensions and this increase was statistically significant compared with the time before the intervention (P<68662). Discussion and Conclusion: Integrated meaningful learning training can be used by health workers specially nurses as an effective training model for patients with hypertension to improve their cognitive-based construction and their life quality. Key Words: training, life quality, hypertension, cognitive-based construction
