Abstract

Background & Objective: Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever is an acute viral hemorrhagic zoonotic fever which affected many people and its mortality rate is 8 to 80 percent. This study was done in order to assessing the awareness of Gonabad’s Health-Medical Centers and Hospitals Personnel about Prevention, Clinical Manifestations, Treatment and Care of Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever in 2012. Material & Methods: In this cross-sectional study 150 persons of Gonabad’s health-medical centers and hospitals personnel involved and filled the Gungormus’s CCHF awareness questionnaire. Gathered data were analyzed by SPSS version 11.5. Results: Most of participants were female (74.4%), married (78.0%) and had bachelor degree (71.3%). Awareness of samples about prevention was appropriate (64%), clinical manifestations was intermediate (61.3%), treatment was appropriate (50%) and total awareness was in intermediate level (50%) Conclusion: Total awareness of Healthcare professionals was not appropriate. As healthcare professionals are in a high risk group of exposing to CCHF and are responsible for caring and treatment of these patients, suggested to increase their awareness by holding educational classes.
